A Short History:

- 2002: Janne, Kimmo, Luca and Olli start playing music, boozing and growing up together. Inspired mainly by Black Sabbath, Nirvana and Guns N' Roses, they record a couple of demos worth of cringeworthy grunge rock under different band names such as Larha and The Lost Soul Movement, play close to a hundred gigs around Finland and finally start to get a hang of these things after their teenage years.

Matti joins while Olli is temporarily out of the group pursuing other interests. The guys decide to start working harder after years of doodling around.

Record deal with Tampere-based indie label Gbfam Records. The band is once again renamed, this time to Day Eleven, which sticks. Debut single "Lost My Love" released in October.

Self-produced debut album "Almost Over Everything", recorded over a span of 12 months, released in May. Mixed reviews and not much else follows. However, Olli rejoins and the band play dozens of shows in support of the album. Fueled by their newly-found love of sounding like a five-piece band, instead of the studio trickery of their debut, they start writing for the next album by the end of the year.

Day Eleven hire producer Jens Bogren and start recording their second album at Fascination Street Studios in Örebro, Sweden.

New single "Whenever You Say You Love Me" hits the airwaves at the beginning of the year. Second album "Sleepwalkers" released to great reviews in Finland in March. The band tour Finland and Germany, and Sleepwalkers is released in the rest of Europe in the autumn by German label Dockyard1.

Extensive pre-production for the next album with some gigging here and there.

Same as ´08. Recording sessions for Matador begin in October.

Third album "Matador" released in January, followed by touring in Finland headlining their own smaller shows as well as supporting some of the biggest local names. Single "River Deep" gets on the airwaves, and a video is also made. Matti leaves the group after the summer's festival shows.

Writing and demoing new material for future release(s) as a four-piece.

"Well, the songs keep coming and we let them come. No reason to leave anything out just because it "doesn't sound like us" or whatever. We play heavy, we play soft, anything goes. But we've been thinking that instead of trying to focus on one of our usual mishmash song collections, we'll try to write with an open mind for two very different albums or EP's. The other one a grinding trippy metal thing, and the other one something lush out of this world."
